2. Application: Do it yourself nails

Application:

Okay, nails are all lined up ready to be glued on. They say to glue on to the underside of the fake nail, but i actually find it easier to glue to my nail and then press on the fake nail on top. Because any glue that you get on the fake nail you tend to transfer to your fingers somehow, making the next nail application so much harder because you’re sticking to everything. First glance, you can see the glue under the nail where it’s drying. Not good. Here’s hoping it goes away when glue is dry.

So nails are on… glue dries pretty quick but not too quick. In about 5 minutes I’m able to file the nails down without fearing of flying them off.

First aha moment? Dang, these look good!
Next bummer moment? Darn, they’re long. At least for me..

So I file them down and of course my file job sucks next to the super perfect shape that you already get, but hey, I’m a busy girl and long nails isn’t going to work in NYC. Filing down is easier than I thought. Just make sure you have those super two sided manicure files for super filing and a more smoother side to shape.. works great. So once the nails are filed down, I literally can’t tell I have them on.. typing this feels fine, and I can’t feel them, though at looking at them, they do look wider and a bit ‘heavier’ than my own nail.

Next bummer moment? So far, the ‘glue’ look underneath the nail is NOT going away.. sigh.
Next aha moment? Dang, these look good.

Okay, test #3…. will these stay ON?

I’ve got a fairly easy day today.. just errands and a party later on tonight. I won’t mention the nails. let’s see what everyone says if they notice at all..

I’ve got my baggie of extra nails, nail file and glue ready to go…. just in case. Cause I really don’t want a nail flying off in the middle of a party…..

how did it go? Check back tomorrow!
