6. FINAL RESULTS: My final outcome.

See my pretty shiny nails? I so fondly remember….
Remember my hopes and fears? See the final outcome in bold.

Hopes:
1. Nails will be looking fierce, all the time.
Yep, they sure do!

2. Easy application.
Yep, pretty easy. Be aware of excess glue and you’re pretty much home free.

3. Doesn’t damage nails if I decide to take them off.
This was the tricky part. Upon removing the nails, in the super handy nail polish remover tube, (just insert your fingers, wait a while and it dissolves off) I noticed that it does take a while to dissolve. Like a long while. Say a good 5-10 minutes? I know, short in regular girl minutes, but forever when your hand is stuck in this thing. Also, if you remove your fingers too soon, the dissolved fake nail gets on your skin and hardens, leaving a glue like substance on your skin which feels awful and you have to stick your hand back in to get it off. Word of warning. Be sure all this stuff is off before you remove your fingers. Makes a world of difference. As in, Elke’s not very patient.

4. Will get me to stop a horrible habit I have with my nails that I do when I’m either stressed out or bored.
Yep, certainly worked. My nails are looking so hot, and the fake nail is so thick that I can’t even GET to my nails to do my horrible habit. I’ve been 1 week free of picking at my cuticles…..

Extra super duper bonus!
1. My nails are super shiny… never have to apply nail polish, E V E R.
2. My nails are non chipped polish free. No chips, knicks or bad nail polish jobs here. Nope. My nails look perfect every single day.

Fears:
1. I envision a nail flying off in the middle of a photo shoot, a meeting, or when working on a client. So not cool or professional.
No flying off, popping off, embarrassing moment.. other than me looking at my hands about every hour because I’m CONVINCED one is gone, only to find out no, they’re still there and I just can’t feel them. When one does pop off, love the fact that all I have to do is glue back on and I have perfect nails again. Fast.

2. Nail flies off, have to quickly put one on, which means I must have a baggie of nails and glue to carry around with me????
Yep, I carried that little sandwhich baggie with me everywhere.. I mean, the horrors! Gotta be prepared! Made my fears much easier knowing I could easy just pop one on if needed, but it never came up. A big sigh of relief there.

3. Fear that yes, my nails WILL be damaged if I decide to take them off because they just don’t work.
Nope. Nail not damaged, but did get a little (or a lot?) side effect from wearing my oh so pretty nails.

So will I do again?

I think the pros so outweighed the cons. I had amazing nails… and I would definitely try it one more time, but this time with more knowledge of how to do it right. Use more glue, clean the nail before popping a nail back on, etc. If it happens again, well, sadly this process wouldn’t for me then. Or maybe on just special occasions… but I do hope I can get it right when I try it again.

I hope my post doesn’t scare you from trying these out… and that you can make an informed decision as to whether you want to try glue on nails or not. But to be positive? It did not damage my nails at all (like acrylics did) and they’re much easier to take off then having to go in and get acrylics soaked and cut off like in the old days… so if something does happen, you can easily remove them immediately yourself to stay safe…

Have you tried? What did you think?
