PRODUCT REVIEW:Shick Intuition Shaver

July 24th, 2008  |  Published in Review: Other  |  4 Comments

What is it with me and shavers lately? I’m a makeup artist. I love makeup. Give me a brush, a new lip gloss and I’m such a happy girl. But shavers? Not really my expertise you know?

But in a goodie bag gotten at some big beauty event somewhere, some time ago, was this.

Shick’s Intuition Shaver.

And off course, the one I had just went dull.. so use I did.

It was so great.

It was so weird.

It, well, worked amazingly, unbelievable well.

Great as in, it’s a shaver and a self-moisturizing, shave cream, or balm I guess you could say (conditioning sticks they call them) in one. Just wet the shave part, and shave. Done. Great as in you don’t have to pull out a can of shaving cream, or another product to get a close shave. It’s literally an all in one product. Fast. Quick. Loved.

Okay, weird? As in, well. I so want to love this. But the rubbery pieced kinda plastic handle part is big, clunky and just so cheap, in looks and feel. I almost felt like I was shaving with a toy. (Keep your kids away from this.. because they WILL think it’s a toy.. mine was in a lime green shade..) And weird as in after only 3 shaves, the cream, balm like container that’s around the blade is literally almost gone. (you have to rinse off between strokes, which kinda makes the product kinda melt, as in go away…) And as the cream part melts down, you wonder how it’s going to work, because it’s melting down below the razor. The razor actually moves and pushes down into the handle as you use it… which makes me think I’ll cut myself, but I don’t.

And of course, amazing and unbelievably well as in, gosh darn it. I literally got the closest, most moisturized shave EVER. As in no lotion as needed after, no cuts, no nicks, no …… just the most amazing skin I’ve ever felt after a shave. Yes, a SHAVE. I almost wish had a boyfriend at the moment who could partake in the feel of it… it’s that amazing…. It took everything I had not to walk up to perfect strangers and ask them to feel my legs…. really.

Love the quick factor.

The one less product needed in the shower.

The after silky smooth results.

Now let’s see how long this thing lasts….. (hmmm 3 more shaves to go ????…)

Refills are about $20 a pop at amazon.com (yep, and that’s on sale).

Yes they are really good. I used the older version of it a while back and I loved it. It just gets used up so quickly.

I never thought about how fast the balm really melts because well… I don’t really shave much. Nowadays I shave about 3 or 4 times a year. Maybe that’s why I still have so much balm left.

I do love this razor though. For some odd reason, the times when I do want to shave, I’m always in a hurry to go somewhere. It’ll occur to me on the day that I wake up late to work, and although I haven’t shaved for 3 months already, at that second, I would just have to shave or I’ll go crazy. So this baby is perfect for me.

And yes, I do have a very weird form of OCD.

Shick Intuition Shaver is a good one. I feel very much comfortable while shaving and its self moisturizing feature keeps the skin cool.

This is the best shaver ever! Yes, it did feel really strange at first. It felt like it wasn’t shaving because it was so soft but it was the closest shave I have ever had. Shaving twice a week it lasted about a month. I have to find the refills now. Amazon.com doesn’t have them right now……
    Try it you’ll love it~!
