I remember reading about Donna Karan’s Cashmere Mist scent way back when it first launched in my mom’s Vogue magazines. And I remembered thinking that this was the scent of those who were rich, famous and the know, wear. And the name. Cashmere? Lov. Just the image of cashmere is enough for me to want to try.
This is a scent that truly envelopes and becomes a part of the person who’s wearing it. When I first spritzed, I wasn’t too ah, happy? It seemed too much, too perfumy, too not like me. But in about 5 minutes this scent completely changed. It got warmer, softer, and musky which i like. While the scent says it’s more floral with jasmine, lily of the valley and bergamot, I really don’t smell it that much. I more so smell the Sandalwood, amber and musk. And I really like it.
What I also like? Most scents I put on, I feel like everyone else gets to enjoy them but me. I mean, in the first few whiffs, yes, it’s there (although a bit intense) but give it an hour or more? Nothing. I can’t tell I have anything on. And I’d would rather take part in the smelling process of using fragrance than just the application. Here? Hours later and I can still tell it’s there.
