I’m looking for an awesome concealer:

  • Sharebar

So I’m sitting here, trying to find a super duper concealing concealer.  And I just can’t find one. Oh they say they cover, but the ones that do, also wreak havoc with my skin with mineral oil and breakouts.  Or it covers, for like an hour, and then it’s faded away.  So I thought I’d ask you, my readers.

Do you know of an amazing concealer that covers like you wouldn’t believe?

With no mineral oil.

Preferably waterproof.

Any suggestions?

Let me know in the comments! Thanks!

  1. Hey Elke

There's a Korean brand concealer that I've fallen in love with. It covers my acne completely, but blends super easily. It's called Hanskin Blemish Concealer. You can get it from neobeauty.com. It's kind of pricey, but it works! Unfortunately I don't know the ingredients off the top of my head.

  2. i tried quite a few concealers and concluded bobbi brown's is the best. i've been a loyal user for the past few years and haven't tried anything else. i don't know about the ingredients tho. i don't look at them (i know, bad me!) my friends say it's a tad bit too oily but it's good on my dry skin.

  3. I have been really impressed with Prescriptive's Flawless Skin concealer. I don't think it has mineral oil, but you'd have to check.

When I started running out of my more expensive makeup items, I tried a lot of drugstore brands and replaced most things but I ended up having to get more of the concealer because nothing came anywhere close. My husband has been impressed with its coverage, too, as he's seen some of the thing that I've covered with it. I even used it to cover a previous roommate's hickies so her mom wouldn't see them (she was a bit overprotective).

  4. Cle de Peau Concealor – is there any other?? I've tried many in my search for the HG and always come back to this. Simply awesome! It covers, lightens & brightens and stays put all day for me. It takes the tiniest bit and a tube last longer than you should really keep a cosmetic around…at least a year for me.

    Here are the ingredients:

Squalane, Cyclomethicone, Kaolin, Phenyl Trimethicone, Paraffin, Sodium Magnesium Silicate, Polyethylene, Sorbitan Sesquisostearate, Carnuba, Mictocrystalline Wax, Water, Dimethicone Copoyol, Cholesteryl Hydroxsterate, Glycerin, Boron Nitride, Polysilicone-5, Tocoppheryl Acetate, Tocopherol, Fragrance, Aluminum Hydroxide, Aluminum Disterate, Simethicone, Methicone, Ascorbyl Dipalmiate, Soy Sterol, Sodium Acetylhaluronate, Titanium Dioxide, Mica, Iron Oxides

  5. I adore the Everyday Minerals one. It's pure minerals, so oil free for sure. Don't think it's waterproof on it's own, but could you use one of those setting sprays?

  6. This might sound a little weird, but Proactiv actually has a really good concealer. I didn't know that they had make up products until i got a catalog in the mail. I tried the concealer, powder, and blush and they work very well. It also helps your skin which you can never go wrong with.

  7. Ok, Elke… Got one for you. Sue Devitt, the makeup artist from Down Under, has a silky smooth concealer called Automatic Camouflage Concealer. Bermuda Triangle is the color to own. As its name indicates it hides all. It’s actually a peachy pink nude shade that is designed to counteract blue and green under-eye circles, making them disappear.

No mineral oil here, instead Sue’s secret ingredient is Nylon-12, which allows the concealer to expand and contract with each and every facial movement, so when you move – it moves, instead of creasing like so many others. This uncreasable concealer leaves a soft finish and provides long lasting coverage. Apply just a stroke or two under your eye and blend. I also put a dab at the inside hollows of my eye to deflect any dark spots. A bit of Bermuda Triangle will ensure that you look well-rested, even if you’re not. I love the little sky blue roll up stick. It makes it so easy to find in my makeup bag or at the bottom of my pocketbook. Can't wait to hear what you think….
