One of the cool goodies I got when I came back from NY was a PR box with NARS newest additions:
The Multiple Stick and Lip Gloss in Orgasm.
Now the widely popular Orgasm Blush
(and the first in the Orgasm series here..) is a fav of mine, though I
have to admit, it looks best on lighter skin; a shimmering peachy pink,
it looks beautiful and the shimmer in it gives that famous ‘glow’ that
you see on most celebrities in their red carpet moments.. Lara Flynn
Boyle (remember her?) was one of the first to wear it;
Now NARS has it;s famous color in a lip gloss and a Multiple Stick.
Eagerly, I opened it up and tried. Sadly I loved and didn’t love.
First off, the Multiple Stick.
A great tool, just swipe on and go right? Well, the color here is full
of shimmery sparkle and in the tube, looks gorgeous. Yep, it’s that
pinky/peach thing. But swipe it on and it’s just;. um; nothing. No
color is seen (I mean hardly any on my somewhat fair skin) and looking
closely in my mirror, all I see is flecks of small glitter on my cheeks
but widely space apart; I apply more. and it’s just more of the same..
From afar, it really doesn’t even look like anything. So sadly
disappointed. I even attempted to swipe on my lips for hopes of
salvaging this product and well, it’s just a more shimmery pink on and
doesn’t look that great. Sigh, I sooo wanted this to work.
Next up, their Orgasm lip gloss.
Again, a super light pinky (more pink here than peach as their famous
blush) and shimmer and much much lighter on than it looks in the tube.
The color goes on really soft and the shimmer is ok but very faint.
Think more of a whitish pink.. but still pretty. I know it says golden
shimmer in it’s description, but I swear, close up, it’s more silvery;.
(???) I find it looks much better applied over a similar lipstick color
than just straight;
Overall, if you want the true NARS Orgasm experience, I recommend sticking
with their powder blush. You’ll get the beautiful peachy pink shimmer experience
that you may be looking for..
