Take Control Beauty Tactic #2

Steer clear of people who drag you down.
Yep, that’s Take Control Tactic #2 in the February Issue of Fitness Magazine, but let’s make it beauty related… or how about:

Steer clear of looks that drag you down.

You know what they are.  That red lipstick that never looks right on you. The smoky shadow you use to create the smoky eye and it just looks, well, tired.  The blush that lasts all of 5 minutes on you.  The super latest hottest trend that no matter when you wear it, makes you feel like ( insert here) a hooker, little girl, your mother, and on and on.
Why are you doing it? Hoping for a miracle? Hoping one day it’ll just WORK because you 1. spent so much money on it,  2. it’s the hottest trend so you gotta have to wear it, 3. everyone else it wearing it, and so on.
stop!

If it doesn’t work, it doesn’t work.  Have you realized that all the celebrities and models that we tend to ooh and aww over have one signature look and they’ve stuck to it forever?  Case in point: JLow, hello! You immediately think of her skin, bronzer, her glowy cheeks, her nude lipstick, her peach cheeks, right? That’s her signature. Angelina Jolie? Constant black eyeliner all around her eyes, matte nude lips. That’s her look.  And so on.  So what’s yours?  Oh, this is where the fun comes in.
Remember yesterday’s Tactic #1?  Well, there you go.  Practice playing up one feature per day.. and see which you like best (or get the most compliments on…) and you’re probably closer to your signature look than you thought you were.  And don’t think you’re now trapped into it. You can still play around, or do different versions of it… but that’s what makes you you.
So forget those looks that just don’t do it for you.  Have fun and create your unique signature style.
