Hello. Feel free to subscribe to my
BLOG. Thanks for visiting!
So while wandering down aisles and aisles of glittery jewelry, too bright and colorful hair extensions, and tons of nail polish, I really didn’t think I’d find anything worthwhile at this year’s IBS Show, the national beauty trade show in New York for the salon industry.
And I almost didn’t. Sadly, this year, the show is fading into the distance with rows of products that are either, not that great, or just, been there, done that. All the major hair brands that made this show great once, like Sebastian, Paul Mitchell and many others are long gone, making the show now seem old and dated. But I walked on, and did find a few interesting things that you might find interesting, coming to a salon near you.
Like, Jane Iredale’s newest Dream Tint. A liquid hydrating tint that applies with it’s own foundation brush, and comes in brighteners and shimmers as well as a warm bronze for a summer look.
Simple Perm has a simple and quick solution to getting those straight lashes looking curled. A quick 16 minute process and your lashes are curled that lasts for up to 2 months. Lashes are placed in newly designed curling clips, perm curling solution applied and left on for 12 minutes. Then a conditioning treament is applied for 3 minutes. Slide clips off and done. Maintain tips are to avoid water for the first 24 hours after the treatment, and any type of mascara or eye makeup can be used. You can find a professional offering near you here.
Looking to get those thin, short lashes growing? A newer product called LashFood is available as a all natural eyelash conditioner, with no chemicals or irritation for longer, fuller lashes. Made in the US, this conditioner, with 2/3 times more than the leading competitors can be brushed on clean lashes 1-2 times per day, like applying eyeliner, and makeup can be applied over. 16 types of herb extracts and vitamins makes LashFood irritation free and safe… but does it work?
A new item that got me excited, was the appearance of Pure Inventions. An easy way to get supplements into your diet, is with their ‘just add water’ approach, for some pretty tasty ways to get hydrated. Full of anti-oxidants, their different formulations come in
* Green Tea Antioxidants
* Fruit Antioxidants
* Nutritional Supplements
* Pure Cocoa Antioxidants
I tried their Cranberry + Elderberry Extract and it was delicious. Sweetened with Stevia, it tasted great and made me want to up my water intake (which I usually don’t like the taste of) right away. And the best part is that you only need two drops per 1 8oz water to reap benefits. Great added bonus for any salon or spa to add to their wellness offerings. Also diabetic friendly. Check out their Pure Ship Club, where you can get your supplies sent every month. Sign up is free along with the 20% sign up discount bonus… and you can cancel anytime.
But I thought I’d save the most fun item I found for last. A big fan of the Bomb Cosmetics, I was shown their newest and coolest Bath Creamer for the bathtub ritual. And let me just say that yes, it was the bomb. While the very masculine and handsome demonstrator showed it to me on him, I had to giggle, but it was truly a cool sight. Just drop their The Glitterati Creamer in your bath, soak and enjoy, and upon exiting the tub, you will find yourself covered subtly and shimmering in it’s gorgeous red/purple shimmer. Not too much, just enough to feel all girly pretty. I was assured that yes, it will not ruin your tub and it will just wash down the drain without scratching or staining. I definitely wanted to try it. Prom night anyone? PS check out their Bomb Blog!
