One of my biggest pet peeves, is looking at someone’s face and they just did not blend. Streaky blush, eye shadows that are just winged out way too far, foundation that looks mismatched and misplaced…You know what I mean. A major makeup mishap nowadays is not that women are wearing too much (ala the 80’s look) but that they’re just not blending.
I know it can get confusing and all. A gazillion brushes, techniques and really, all we really want to do is throw it on and dash out the door. So what women do is they say, oh the heck with it and apply the least amount that they can get away with. And what happens is that they don’t have enough on. And truly, your face shows the world who you are. And a unblended face is messy, unorganized and in a rush….
Here’s the greatest makeup trick you’ll ever try. Trust me.
It’s the kabuki blending trick.
Take that kabuki brush that came with your mineral makeup foundation set. LIke this one:

TheBalm Mini Kabuki Brush
The Balm’s version is mini, tiny, only 2″ long, portable and perfect for what you need. And only $10.00. Don’t use the one you use for mineral makeup. Make sure this one is just your blending brush. That’s it.
Okay, now just throw your face on. Everything. Foundation. blush, eye shadow….everything except the lips. Just go for it.
All done? Okay, now take this Kabuki Brush (clean of course!) and buff. Buff the whole face, and you’ll find that all your products will be buffed and perfectly blended. Apply your lips and mascara. Done.
You’ll not only look like a pro, and that took, what how long?
See?
