Is Lindsay Lohan’s tan worth buying?

Well, I tried it. And I’m still trying to figure out if it’s worth it.  Available exclusively at Sephora (though not for much longer…)  I checked out Lindsay Lohen‘s Sevin Nyne tanning mist spray while trying to avoid the too hot sun in Vegas. But that didn’t mean I didn’t want to look like I was.

So let’s see. What’s first? How about the minuses:

First off, the bottle is slightly smaller than most spray tanners, so you’ll feel as if you’re getting a lot less. It’s 5 oz for a whopping $35.00. And it takes a good 2/3 passes for the spray tan to even look like it’s going on. The spray is also slightly greasy and leaves a slight oily residue on your skin which takes a while to sink in.  And if you’re expecting a super dark tanning result from this, this ain’t it. Think more of a light ‘oomph’ effect to your tan, making your tan look more even and warm. But not really darker.

The pluses? The smell of it is nicer than most,  and I actually did like the way the color looked. A  more golden red brown on. Not too dark, not too orange.  And it lasted several days too which was nice. And it didn’t wash off in the shower like most.

So would I use it again? Probably not. But it’s a nice overall booster to your summer tan that I would maybe use once a week to even things out. But if you’re looking for a major at the beach tanned skin? You may want to keep shopping.

  1. Is the product staying with Sephora and just moving into other retail outlets or leaving Sephora? I was also wondering about the “over-spray” did you find it messy to use in the bathroom or did it leave that oily residue on the floor or surroundings?

    Thanks for the post!

  2. From what I heard, the exclusive at Sephora ends so they'll be available at other outlets, where not sure though. As far as spray out, yes on the floor (hence the very slippery feel not only on me) but it didn't spray wide so nothing on walls or such. Good: nice color and smell. Bad: $$$ hard to apply, greasy, didn't last too long (3 days tops?)
