And you thought pink was just for spring/summer. Nope. It’s big. For fall and winter that is. But in a new way.

The Look:
Take a look at these photos from the fall collections. Notice a trend?

Yep. It’s pink, in all shades, but in a new placement. Instead of the flushed cheeks on the apples of the past few years, it’s now back towards the ear placement, and even under the eyes like seen in the photo below.

So what does this new placement do? It makes the eyes stand out more… and it actually makes the cheekbone in the front look larger, stronger, more prominent because you’re creating a ’shadow’ like effect behind it, making the cheekbones look stronger and the eyes more the focal point.

Application:
So how to do? Easy. Remember the smile technique to apply on the apples of the cheeks? This time, smile, and place your blush behind the puff of apple of the cheek. And then relax, and blend the blush a bit towards the front of the cheekbone to blend (but not to add more color..) See?

Best brush is to use a small angled blush brush, like this one from Bare Escentuals.

The smaller the brush the better.. make sure it fits in that area, too large and you’ll get blush that will spread out too wide.
Pink shades to try:
Warm medium skin tones should go for warmer pinks that have a touch of gold or yellow in them.
