When it comes to makeup for myself, I look for what everyone else looks for. Colors that work, apply fast and stay on like, forever. Some products make the cut, while others don’t. So what is in my makeup bag now? Take a peek:
1. Bloom Foundation Stick:
Sent to me by their PR, I’m finding that this is fast becoming a staple in my makeup routine. Applies great, not greasy like most foundation sticks and does a great job in a pinch as a under eye concealer as well. Love. You can see my review online here.
2. Clinique High Lengths Mascara.
Again, sent from PR, this mascara is now my all time favorite mascara of all time, and I’ve used it so much, that all the writing has worn off the tube, I love it that much. Clinique is fast becoming a mascara love, and quickly replacing Lancome to me as THE place to go to to find mascaras. This ingenius little green comb gives lashes a fantastic length, and darkness that I’ve not been able to find anywhere else. Even better? It wares all day, never rubs or peels off, and removes easily, without making my eyes burn, water or tear. And at only $14, I will most definitely be buying this again the minute I run out. Makes my thin lashes look long and dark with a touch of thickness. The fun part is the application. Keep running your brush over the lashes and just see the lashes transform before your very eyes with each coat.
3.Laura Geller Blush in Golden Apricot
When I’m in a rush, I always reach for this shade. A gorgeous flush with tons of gold shimmer (actually looks more reddish on than coral), this color gives me the perfect flush with a touch of gold shimmer to make it a little exciting. Even better, stays on forever and I can go hours without having to touch up.
4. MAC Pearlglide Intense Eyeliner in Black Line
From a new collection, while I love the gel easy to apply effect, this pencil if I get anywhere near my eye, burns and makes my eyes water so I have to apply very carefully. But love the blendability factor and the darkness of the pencil. Received from PR but I probably wouldn’t purchase this because of my sensitivity to it.
5.Elke Day Brow Shadow in Dark Brunette
Yes, I know it’s my own brow shade, but I love that I can get a dark dramatic brow look with this, which makes my brows darker without looking heavy. I made this color for dark and black browns and it works great on darker skins too without looking ashy on, but I’m loving it to get the dark brow trend that’s so in right now. When I want a softer look, I reach for my Ash Brown Day Brow Shadow instead.
6. Milani Crystal Gloss for Lips
On a drugstore spree a while ago, I was looking cheapie finds on a drugstore budget and Milani came to my eye. Not thinking much of it, this little lip gloss is one of the most beautiful I’ve seen around. A pinky shade with tons of gold flecks (I’ve used so much, the writing is worn off the tube) but I still reach for it. Throw it on, pigment is great, stays on forever. What more could I ask for? Makes me really want to check out the rest of their line soon.
