Mention cream foundation and I’ll be the first to try it because I
1. love the versatility of being able to build up or apply light
2. can use as a concealer in a pinch
So when PR from Julie Hewett sent me their latest, I was a willing victim. So try I did. At $38 a pop, this cream formula foundation offers six different shades that can apply with a sponge, fingers or a brush. I tried all 3.
Coverage was actually pretty similar regardless of how I applied it, and trying to apply a sheerer version didn’t really work. The cream is not really a cream, but more of a gel type with a more slippery feel than a cream. Good part is that it’s not heavy or greasy, but the gel part didn’t really feel that great going on either. Also applying more didn’t really create any more coverage than the first time. The slight tacky feel does go away after a few, and the coverage lasts ok, but not great. Expecting at least a few hours of great coverage, even with powder or mineral powder applied over didn’t make it last more than 3 hours on. The look is good in that you don’t feel or look like you have a face full of foundation on. But for the dollar amount I would hope that you would get great coverage out of it which I felt lacking.
PROS:
Look of skin after applying is skin like.
Can apply with either fingers, brush or sponge.
Colors are very skin friendly, without intense undertones.
CONS:
Doesn’t really give that great coverage.
Feel of foundation is sticky/gel like that does fade in a few.
Doesn’t build up when applying more than 1 layer.
