So after a much needed vacation in the super hot town of Las Vegas, the heat of 114 degrees was a bit much, but in a funny way, a much welcome relief from the super hot muggy humid New York that I just came from. Dry heat or humid? No contest. Give me dry any day.
So as always I packed way more than needed in the beauty products department (while at the same time forgetting my bathing suit…) and realized that there were a few tried and true beauty items that really made my trip more beautiful and doable in the Vegas heat.

First was Secret’s Clinical Strength Waterproof Antiperspirant. I really didn’t think much of it until the one day I completely forgot to apply it after the hotel gym that morning. Best part of this was that you could use it and not even know you did anything. Not one bead of sweat, I’m not kidding. Godsent.
Next was Aveeno’s Positively Ageless EyeSerum. This serum applied great under eyes and gave my eyes a cool feel that wasn’t too much, but just right. Also made my eyes look rested, especially after a couple of 3 a.m. late night adventures, vegas style. I found myself applying this every a.m. and p.m. Couldn’t get enough.
Then was BeFine’s Lip Serum. Eyes benefit from serum, so why not lips? This somewhat thick lip serum applied smooth, and hydrated my lips to no end. I actually found myself liking this way better than a sticky waxy lip balm and I got way better hydration. This will now be a nightly staple as well. Eye serum? Check. Lip Serum? Double check.
Next was the Moroccanoil Oil Treatment. Known for it’s bright teal packaging, I really was hesitant to use this on my fine hair. But since Vegas week was also a time to try out some new beauty products and do a little bit of a ‘spa beauty week’ as well, try I did. Boy am I glad I did. This straight oil is applied to hair (I applied to dry hair…) and let sit. I even intensified it by applying before a day at the pool so the heat could let it work a bit. But now the hard part. The washing out part. In just 2 shampoos, all the oil washed out completely and my hair was the shiniest and softest I think I’ve ever felt it. My hair felt light and any dry ends were banished. This is definitely one treatment I’ll do again when my hair starts to feel dry again. Just loved that it washed out so great and gave such great results.
Not last on the list, and certainly not least was my reach for the new Sunforgettable Mineral Powder Sun Protection in Medium. This brushed on as a mineral makeup while providing SPF 50. I loved the coverage and the medium shade was perfect for my newly tanned skin. But the SPF 50 you just can’t beat. Not once did I get burned.
An oldie but a goodie that just had to come along on this trip was my brick harmony trio bronzer from Sephora. Similar to the famous Bobbi Brown version, this one is great for those on a beauty budget (only $16) and gives the same great shimmering golden bronze. I got compliments every time I wore and even added to shoulders and collarbones for those nights on the vegas strip. A definite keeper.
