If you’re on a NY’s beauty upkeep ritual, you may want to start with your skin first. Get that skin glowing and looking great for the upcoming months ahead. So while this has been in the cabinet a while, I decided to try it to ring in the new year, for better looking skin with Nivea’s Q10 Gentle Spa
This 3 Step at home treatment is meant to be used 2-3 times per week. And it promises to offer professional results in just 3 steps.
Does it deliver?
Step One: Pre-Treatment Cleanser
This is a gel cleanser that I found worked very well. Removed all traces of makeup (even eye makeup) without leaving my skin feeling stripped or too clean. It also didn’t leave any burning or stinging eyes as well. So I would say a strong cleanser without the strong after effects.
Step Two: The Micro-Dermabrasion Gel
This is the important step. The Micro-Dermabrasion Gel has little exfoliating pearls + Pro-Vitamin B5, that polishes your skin without stripping it. What I did notice afterwards was that my skin felt slightly,…how do I put this. It felt slightly raw. It wasn’t abrasive at all.. but it truly felt like every single little dry, rough, dead, should not be there skin cell was absolutely GONE. My skin felt lighter, and slightly thinner…. hmm, maybe that’s what I mean by raw? But in a good way… I promise. It truly felt like it did the job more than any other scrub I’ve ever tried. Lov that it didn’t feel abrasive or scratchy on my skin at all. It’s a gel!
Step Three: Post Treatment Balm
“A soothing Post Treatment Balm with Q10 Energy Complex and SPF 15, boosts your skin’s moisture level and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles to revitalize your skin’s youthful appearance.”
Hmm, this is the one thing that I wish was better. I applied this thin moisture layer and about 5 minutes later, my skin was dying for more. I truly wanted a rich moisture surge for my skin after the amazing microdermabrasion gel, which I didn’t feel like I got here. I would say this lotion would work great for oilier skin (I’m combo, slightly sensitive, thin skin..) Next time I will try with another moisturizer, or put my favorite virgin olive oil under this to get more results…This moisturizer does have SPF 15 and the Q10 Complex though.
Website instructions say:
When to use:
For best results, use morning or night, 2-3 times a week. For normal to oily skin, use up to 3 times per week. For normal to dry skin, use 2 times per week.
Would I use it again? Absolutely. I do think they should market the Step 2 as a separate item so customers can use their own cleanser and moisturizer that might suit their skin better…. But overall, I was very pleased with the results. And yes, the next morning, my skin looked amazing and felt fantastic….
