its non-profit arm, the Yes To Seed Fund, is also announcing a partnership with Whole Foods Market to
help build school and community gardens in 2011. With a joint mission of giving
kids fun and engaging ways to learn about nutrition and the importance of
fruits & veggies, Yes To will be giving out Seed Fund School Garden Grants
to local schools in partnering Whole Foods regions that are committed to
building school gardens. Yes To will be awarding TEN $2,000 grants (for schools in the Northern California
region and the Pacific Northwest’ region) as well as five additional $500 ‘Seed Fund Starter Grants,’
available to schools across the country. Schools can apply at: www.yestocarrots.com/
from April 1st through May 31st. Seed
Fund Garden Grant recipients will be announced on June 15th.
