Texture will be all the rage this Fall. Says Nathan Rosenkranz, fashion director at patrick mcivor color studio, Matrix Mannequin Mania Master
and a regular backstage during New York Fashion Week,
“Multi-textured looks continue to rule, but this season the texture is
not as severe – it’s softer and smoother, transitioning into to gentle
waves and fuzz.”
“The great thing
about multi-textured looks is they’re easy to create because they’re not
precise. For an easy multi-textured style, simply blow hair back and
off the face using a blowdryer and a medium weight spray like Matrix Vavoom ShapeMAKER Extra-Hold Spray.
Starting at the nape, take a section and use a three-prong iron,
starting at the root and working to the ends. Continue taking sections
up the head to the ears. Once you go above the ear, keep taking sections
working towards the top. On the sections above the ears, start the
three-prong iron down the shaft of the hair so that the top stays
straight and from the ears down is waved. Finish with Matrix Vavoom
ShapeMAKER Extra-Hold Spray,” explains Rosenkranz.
Casual Top Braid
· Pull hair up into a ponytail and hold with hands.
· Pick out small pieces around the hairline with a tail comb (so it looks like they fell out naturally).
· Secure pony on top of head.
· Braid pony and pin into a bun.
· Working
in sections, spread out pieces around hairline, compress with a
three-prong iron, spray with Matrix ShapeMAKER, back brush and then
brush out section (this gives the effect that the pieces have fallen
from the braid).
Avant Garde Netted Texture
· Work a volumizing product through hair (try Matrix Design Pulse Go Big Extra Strong Hold Mousse), pull on top of head and secure into a ponytail.
· Back brush ponytail.
· Place netting around ponytail and secure with grips.
· Form netted hair into an organic shape.
· Pull small bits of hair through the net.
