The hottest makeup trend stepping off the runways is natural minimalism. From Diane Von Furstenberg to Derek Lam, using makeup to get a no makeup look is the newest trend. Makeup artists used toners, primers and highlighters to enhance the models’ natural features, all while making them appear as though they don’t have anything on at all!
Recreate the no makeup look in three simple steps…
1) PREP
Apply Biologique Recherche Lotion P50 ($52, Biologique-Recherche.com) to entire face with a cotton pad. This liquid lotion, also known as the “facial in a bottle,” prepares skin by exfoliating and toning. The amazing vitamin-enriched exfoliating potion gently purifies, hydrates, tones, controls sebum and balances the skin, to achieve the perfect canvas.
2) PRIME
Once skin is prepped, apply Koh Gen Do Maifanshi Makeup Color Base in Pearl White ($50, KohGenDoCosmetics.com) to sculpture and highlight the face, which will make some features appear prominent and others recede. This base cream contains micronized pearl powders for an optical smoothing and brightening effect of the skin.
3) PERFECT
For a sheer finish, Dermablend Smooth Indulgence Mineral Finishing Powder ($24, Dermablend.com) evens out skin tone and helps minimize skin redness. The powder can also be used for delicate highlighting on the high points of the face, such as the forehead and nose, as well as on the décolleté.
