Halloween is almost upon us and instead of scrambling for a last minute Halloween costume, Blushington’s Director of Artistry and Relations, Emma Willis, gives tips on how to create a ghoulish look that will surely make you look spooktacular.
“Halloween is the time where all the ladies out there want to look chic and subtly sexy but with a little spooky and mischievous glint in your eye. Opt for the black smoky eye with Holiday orange lips. Dare to wing and smoke out those eyes. After all, it IS Halloween!
First, create that flawless base with Becca’s Luminous Skin Colour, evenly applied with either a dampened sponge or foundation brush. Julie Hewett’s Omit Concealers have an amazing texture and blend well, hiding all those little imperfections.
To get those devilish eyes, use Stila’s Smudge Pot in Black – but blend well as this product dries quickly! Next, use a gorgeous smoky brown color to help blend out over the black and to soften the edges. Julie Hewett’s Java is a great color for this! Remember to leave the inner corners lighter and blend out, depositing more shadow in the socket area and the roots of the lashes to create that big cat eye. Bring under the lower lashes right into the inner corner as well, blending along the way with the brown shadow over the edges to soften the line.
But the key to making those spooky, “witchful” eyes, is loading up on the mascara. Stila’s Glamoureyes Mascara is perfect for this look. And if you really want to rock it, add on a dramatic pair of false lashes for a look that will be sure to spook the crowd.
For the final touch, dust a fair amount – while blending and buffing well – a nice coral/orange bronze color over the cheeks and finish with a rich, dense orange lipstick to add that festive pop to the look. Belle Noir by Julie Hewett is a fabulous color and will really make your lips pop, making your ready to hit the town and mingle with all those ghosts and gouls.”
