Trend Alert: Bleached Brows

Yep. It’s official. Bleached brows that dominated the runways in europe last year has made it’s way to the states.

As Seen at Rodarte and Marc Jacobs Spring ‘11 Runway Shows, model-favorite Colorist & Wella Professionals Color Ambassador, Laurie Foley, is renowned for her dramatic backstage transformations, and the recent spring ‘11 fashion week was no different. Backstage at Spring ’11 Fashion Week, Foley brought brows to a whole new level.

Foley lightened arches to a bleached blonde with Wella’s Blondor Lightening Powder to complete a ‘70s glam look for intense contrast at both Marc Jacobs and Rodarte. “Bleached blonde brows have seen a few seasons of dominance in Europe and just recently made it over to the US. They make a major statement and really compliment the entire look,” commented Laurie.

Laurie is the founder of L’Atelier de Laurie and Wella Color Ambassador, and has been a professional stylist and colorist for 33 years, with a specialty in innovative and challenging hair trends. Laurie has styled the coifs of celebrities such as Raquel Zimmerman, Vlada Roslyakova, Agyness Deyn, Carmen Kass and Erin Wasson, to name a few. Laurie was also recently featured in Allure’s Directory for Hair Color.

Is the bleached brow going to make it’s way to the salon? I personally don’t think a client will want to take her brows to this extreme, but maybe a trend for the blondes out there will be to lighten their brows a touch for a new look. Note to the brunettes: darker and thick is still in!

note: only let a licensed hair stylist (yes, a hair stylist. Not esthetician, or manicurist, only a hair stylist) bleach your brows…… no one else is allowed to!
