Do not try this at home.
It may be a trend that uber makeup artist Pat McGrath is doing on the runways, but it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s something you should do. Case in point? Bleaching eyebrows so that they almost disappear. If you do want to do this look, this is something your hairstylist should do. No, not your makeup artist, esthetician, or eyebrow girl. Technically, they’re not legally and by state board regulations, not even allowed to bleach any hair on your face. Why? They’ve had absolutely no training in it at all. Hair stylists are trained in the coloring and lightening of hair. We’re not. And yes, I can’t tell you how many brows I’ve had to tint with a brow tint (which is softer than hair color, and again, do not use on brows.. and the color gradually fades, not grows out….) because a hair stylist bleached a brow only to have it turn orange. Yep. Orange. Not a pretty sight. And the darker your hair is that you want to lighten? The harder it is to do. So while it looks pretty on the runway, I stress caution. Be really careful if you want to try this look.

Save money. Look beautiful.
Looking to save your hard earned money, but still want to look good? Well, as they say, when there’s a will, there’s a way. Try these beauty budget blasters to help you looking beautiful while on a budget.
Get your hair touch ups at a better deal:
Not looking to do a whole new do? Just need a little hair blow out? Book your appointment with a Junior Stylist. If you’re a little anxious of getting less than amazing results, call and talk to your main stylist first and let them know. That way, they’ll be on the lookout and can check in to make sure your style is looking great. And no hard feelings, since this is only for a blow out. And you’d be amazed at how much longer that great blow out can make that hair cut last.
A new bang:
Want something new, but not major? Try bangs. And it doesn’t have to be a strong blunt bang either. Think long layers, a side swept fringe, a layered bang… something that will make your cut seem fresh and new. And don’t forget, most hair salons offer a free bang trim in between cuts. Just ask!
Maintain those brows:
Got your brows perfectly arched? Well, to keep them looking sharp, you have to keep on top of it. I always tell clients that you can tweeze the hairs that are not touching the actual eyebrow and you really can’t mess it up. Keep an eye on them every day, and tweeze the hairs that you can tell are growing in. If you wait 1-2 weeks before you look, it will be much harder to tell what needs to be tweezed or kept. Keep on top of it and you can make that monthly brow shaping last at least 2-3 months. And no, I never tell my clients they have to come in every month. So whether it’s monthly, every 3 months, or every 6 months, everyone’s needs are different.
The Eyebrow Chakra?
How Healthy are You focuses an article on the energy and balancing of Chakras.
The enlightened people have always advocated finding inner peace through internal energy reservoir. In other words, you can improve your life without any external aid, and by concentrating on improving the functioning of seven primary energy centers (chakras) within the body.
But did you know there was a “Brow” Chakra?
6. The Brow Chakra (or Ajna), situated between the brows on the forehead, is associated with perception, intuition, and imagination. Indigo is the color associated with this chakra, which empowers the body with qualities, like visualization, understanding, and clear vision.
Interesting!

Susan Boyle’s new (bad) eyebrows?

before

after?
Why? Why? Why? No, not that she had her brows done, but that they were done so badly. Too thin, too straight, no arch. Whoever was presented with the task, with all that eyebrow to work with, could only then came up with this?
I don’t know what to say………

Mr Spock’s Eyebrows: Coming to a theatre near you.
HEROES villain ZACHARY QUINTO had to crop his famous eyebrows
to play MR. SPOCK in the new STAR TREK movie.
The actor is famous for his bushy brows, but director J.J. Abrams insisted they had to go if he was to play the sci-fi Vulcan. Quinto tells Playboy magazine, “I had to shave three quarters off each to play Spock.”
And the actor admits he once sported a uni-brow: “I lost the unibrow in college when I was preparing to go into the acting marketplace. “My eyebrows do require some attention… I don’t know if they’re my favourite feature, but they’re certainly my defining characteristic.”
YIkes! Would you shave half your eyebrows for a movie role? I don’t know if I would, but here’s a case of the unibrow that’s kept under control.. when he’s not playing Mr. Spock that is.
Eyebrows through the decades
Whoever says that eyebrows don’t have their trends, haven’t checked out the photo archives. Because they sure do. They may not change every year like makeup and clothes do, but eyebrows always spotlight the era in which they are in. Case in point: ABC New’s Brow Fashion Through the Years
A lot of the brow photos shown are mostly brows that look like they need a major shaping…both men and women included.

Susan Boyle has the voice of an angel but that’s not good enough.
For Hollywood that is. Hollywood is immediately jumping on the bandwagon and trying to make her over. It’s the extreme makeover that I think they love.
Extra just couldn’t wait. They asked DailyMakeover.com to give them a few makeover ideas as to how to give her a better look.
Am I the only one a little appalled at this instant leap to re-create someone to a Hollywood glamour ideal? Yes, granted I’m in the beauty/brow biz, and yes, I did think, “if she shaped her eyebrows, she would…… “… ect. ect. But then I also thought, just leave it be. What’s wrong with looks not being the ideal? What’s wrong with just having the amazing talent that she clearly has? Why can’t that be enough?
If you watched the video you’ll see what I mean, if you haven’t seen it already. And I was in tears the whole way through.
Don’t judge a book by it’s cover. You never know what you might get. I say Susan, stay exactly the way you are. You just might change this country’s extreme need to make everything perfect. You’re proving you don’t have to be. Your talent is beautiful enough for me…. go get ‘em!
