One of the things I def wanted to do in NYC was to go see the fab “Eyebrow Specialist” Elke Von Freudenberg. I had been trying to coordinate my trips with her bi-coastal schedule and was lucky enough to get an appointment for this trip on Saturday morning. So, before I went, I took a “before” pic of my brows:
Little messy, but I like a fuller brow, so, that’s what she got to work with.
And this is how great they looked afterwards: 
She told me that I had great shape, that my arch was in the right place, but that she wanted to just “sharpen them up a bit”. I was all for it and I think the results are great. (*the makeup is after my appt at Saks for the D&G Makeup launch – def more about that later.)
And here I am with the lovely lady herself:
She was super generous with her time – even after my epic address FAIL! She does brows a neat way – she put on her super magnifying reader glasses and has you *sit up* in front of her, not laying down. She says this way she sees how your face falls naturally and can better shape your brows to fit your face this way. The didn’t use any wax or threading on me. Just pluck plucked me neat with her tweezers.
Elke Von Freudenberg – An Eyebrow’s Best Friend!
Eyebrow specialist Elke Von Freudenberg is genuinely fascinated by faces. She manages the brows of celebrities and regular men and women with gifted, critical eyes. Elke creates new brow shapes, or fixes broken ones. Her tweezers are like a magic wand that can make all the difference in how someone looks right now, and in the future. She’d like to be known as the celebrity brow specialist in both coasts. With her combination of skills, personality and enthusiasm, and her own set of product called The Model Brow Collection, she’s well on her way. She works efficiently, but takes as long as necessary to listen to a client’s wishes, analyze each face, and get it right. Elke uses her eyes, not cookie cutter forms, to determine a perfect shape or ascertain what’s needed to fix a messed-up brow. Before she picks up her tweezers, she explains exactly what she is planning to do. This star treatment is for everyone, whether they’re celebrities, or models at a photo shoot, or just someone who wants to look his or her best.

Best Eyebrow Shaping -
not just in Brooklyn – but in NYC!!!

I’ve been to Eliza and Robin Evans. Both are very good, but I find that Elke’s “eye” is more suitable to my own as far as shape and expression. I like a more natural brow with a pleasant expression. I can’t stand the harsh overly extended or arched brows that seem to be out there a lot. I just want to look like me – only better. Elke spent about an hour with me – listening, talking and getting to know my likes and dislikes. She totally understood!! She looked me face-on to see my bone structure and how my brows naturally grew. She explained every part to me and let me even watch while she was doing them so that I could say, “NOOOOOO!!” if I needed to. I didn’t need to. She shaped them and they look beautiful. They are the best I’ve ever had! I still need to grow one in more due to previous overwaxing. But Elke gave me tips on how to get them to grow faster and fuller. I’m SO glad I’ve found her. She is wonderful and I feel really lucky to have her in my neighborhood. WONDERFUL!!! Carol
“I have tried a variety of highly recommended eyebrow stylists from LA to NY and Elke is by far the best. Her style is impeccable and her technique is flawless. Not only have I had my eyebrows shaped but have also had Elke style my make up for several events. Not only does she make you look great, but she accentuates your natural features and structures of the face in a way that you don’t look made up. You feel the star treatment from the moment you enter and she greets you. The one thing which goes a long way for me is how insightful she is. Although she is considered to be a top 5 eyebrow specialist and has ton of experience, I am still weary of what people do (especially when it comes to my face). Elke never does anything until she fully explains what she would like to do and gets your input. Unfortunately, I have not had the same experience with some of the other top stylists in NY because they think they are on a platform and don’t want to be bothered with your opinion, even though its your face! Now if this review is not enough to help give some insight then you should check out some of her past work which is how I found her. Her participation in high fashion is how her name came up for me. Check out her view book, reviews on her make up line or other people’s reviews. You will find out which super models/fashion designers and celebrity’s she has done work for. “I LOVE Elke! She is truly amazing at taming my brows! I used to be a fan of threading, but she is so quick and painless that it doesn’t even feel as though she is using a tweezer. I especially enjoy her chair which I have to say is the higlight of my visit (besides Elke herself that is). It is so comfortable that I was half tempted to take a siesta! I had to make a last minute appointment and Elke was gracious enough to fit me in despite her busy schedule. Besides making my brows look gorgeous, she also gives great tips and tricks that will quench any beauty addict’s thirst. Elke is incredible. I went in thinking that there was nothing she could do to save my uneven, over plucked brows but somehow she found a way to make me look presentable. Before I went to her I was seriously considering tattooing my brows because I thought I’d done irreparable damage. She made it painless and constantly checked with me to make sure that I was happy with what she was doing. She also made me feel extremely comfortable and made the whole process really enjoyable.
