If you actually did over pluck your brows at one point in your life, here’s some tips for you on how to fill in sparse eyebrows to make them like thicker and fuller.

Use a brow color a few shades lighter than your hair color. It will blend in easier and you’ll avoid the too dark and heavy brow look.

Why? Filling in sparse eyebrows with a color that’s the same shade or too dark actually draws attention to the sparse areas. An easier way is to go 1 shade lighter than your brow color with a brow powder, brow pencil or powder pencil.

Another key is to only fill in where needed. The key is to draw a shadow on the skin so the lightness of the sparse area doesn’t show up as much.  By shading the entire brow, you end up with a heavy look to the brow. Just fill in where needed and no one will see.

Make brows look thicker with a colored brow gel, ideally one that has fibers in it. This colors the hairs as well as thickening thin hairs so they show up better, hiding sparse areas.

Another way to hide sparse brows is to use a brow wax or pomade to tame brows into place, while a clear brow gel is best for thinner and lighter brows.

Another way to hide sparse eyebrows is to call attention away from it. Elke tells her clients to use a highlighter shadow to highlighter pencil to emphasize the brow bone, calling attention away from the brows. You can also use a brow highlight in between brow shapings to hide new growth. Just shade in the highlight under the brow bone to soften and blur.
